Changing Langley Forever - An update on the plans for change.

The HMR Pathfinder is one of a number of projects that is helping to transform Langley from an isolated estate with low demand housing into a thriving and attractive area

A lot of investment has already taken place, in order to improve the choice of housing on offer, lift the appearance of neighbourhoods, enhance community safety, make better use of open spaces and improve links to Middleton, the rest of the borough and Manchester.

The Pathfinder is playing a big part in this transformation. Over the past four years, HMR has invested over £6 million on Langley. To date, 685 properties have benefited from improvements to boundary walls, as well as new parking solutions to ease congestion on the estate. Lovell are continuing to build new homes on Langley, complemented by Bowlee Park Housing Associations on-going programme to bring their properties up to Decent Homes Standards.

Following the public consultation process that took place at the end of last year, a revised plan for Langley has now been produced. The revised plan was displayed to the public in March and takes into consideration many of the comments made during the initial consultation.

We are now waiting for the revised plan to be endorsed by our partners. We will continue to keep people fully informed of our progress. In the meantime, work is continuing behind the scenes to support those whose homes and businesses remain directly affected by the proposals.

For more information about the revised plans for Langley please contact Steve, Jacqui or Katie at the Council Offices, Fountain Street, Middleton, Tel: 01706 923128.
