Latest plans on show for Hathershaw
20 May 2008
The latest phase in the transformation of Hathershaw and Fitton HIll gets underway this month.
Ashton Road Central is the focus, which includes selected properties on Ashton Road, Hathershaw Lane, Hollins Road, Arran Avenue, Tydden Street, Denbigh Street, Ethel Street, Alton Street and Edith Street.
Possible developments will focus on environmental improvements such as landscaping and planting to make the area look better and external property refurbishments such as, brick cleaning, rebuilding boundary walls and cleaning out gutters.
The Spatial Masterplan is the long-term plan between New Deal for Communities, Oldham Council and Housing Market Renewal to regenerate this area of Oldham. The plan identified the need for further consultation and possible work in some areas as funding becomes available and this is now happening.
The consultation sessions will be an opportunity for residents to have their say and let us know how they would like to improve this part of the area. They will also be an opportunity to talk about wider Masterplan issues.
There is now funding available to make these improvements and we need your help to prioritise the work that needs doing.
Two drop-in events have been arranged for residents, the wider community and businesses. These will take place on Wednesday 21 May, between 1pm – 3.30 and 5pm – 7pm at Langham House, 368 - 370 Ashton Road.
There will also be a feedback event on Wednesday 18 June againat Langham House to let residents know the results of the consultation and firm up proposals to improve the area.
