We're seeking new members for residents' panel
18 March 2008

People who live in the Housing Market Renewal (HMR) neighbourhoods of Oldham and Rochdale boroughs are being invited to give their views by joining the pathfinder-wide Residents Sounding Panel (RSP)
There are ten vacant seats to be filled on the RSP Core Meetings Group for this year. The Core Group meets quarterly at community venues across Oldham and Rochdale.
Panel members will receive a £10 shopping voucher for every meeting that they attend, transport is provided as well as training opportunities. The panel is a chance to meet with people from other neighbourhoods to share their experience of the Pathfinder.
People living in any HMR neighbourhood are also invited to be part of a wider group who don’t attend meetings but are consulted in other ways such as by email, postal questionnaires or telephone.
Alastair Graham, Pathfinder Director, said, “The Residents Sounding Panel is providing local people with an important voice to have their say about the multi-million pound project to provide a greater choice of well-designed, modern homes and improve the local environment and economy.
The deadline for applications for the Panel is Tuesday 22 April. Successful applicants for the Core Group will be notified during May. Other applicants will be added to the wider group and contacted later in the year
The Residents Sounding Panel works in addition to all the existing neighbourhood consultation groups, such as the Werneth Community Forum and the Kirkholt Steering Group, and discusses issues that apply across the whole HMR area, not just one neighbourhood.
