A free event takes place on Saturday 11 August, giving Kirkholt residents the chance to find out more plans for their estate.
The open day is taking place at the Kirkholt Community Centre, The Strand, Kirkholt between 12 noon and 3pm.
As part of the regeneration plans for Kirkholt, a heritage study is being carried out on the estate. Maps and material on the area's history will be on display and you are invited to bring old photos, cuttings and other memorabilia to be exhibited.
Visitors can also have a look at the revised ‘Ideas for Change’ plans, and the views of local people gathered from consultation events.
You can find out more about the future of parks, playgrounds, sports areas and community woodland, ask questions and share views. Presentations on the plans will take place at 1pm and 2pm.
‘Waterloo Road’ star, actress Lauren Drummond who plays Mika Grainger will present sports awards and there will be information from partners such as the Fire Brigade and Kingsway Recruitment together with fun activities for youngsters.
The event organised by Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, Rochdale Council and Housing Market Renewal starts at noon at Kirkholt Community Centre. For more information, contact the Drop-in Centre on (01706) 645125.
