Property Xchange
Property Xchange aims to help people in Oldham affected by Housing Market Renewal demolition proposals. Oldham Council has bought several properties across the borough that are being offered for sale at market value to home owners and tenants. Priority is given to people whose current homes are in the first phase of proposed demolition. The scheme has been introduced in response to requests from residents.
The properties are valued by the district valuer before being offered for sale at market value. Every new owner of an Xchange property will receive an owners’ pack containing:
- an electrical certificate (NIC EIC)
- a gas certificate (CORGI Registered)
- a timber and damp report/certificate.
Residents can also take advantage of the Home Plus Plan which allows them to access additional funding to help them buy a new home. They do not have to pay anything back until they sell the home in the future.
If you would like to know which properties are available, please contact the Regeneration Directorate at Oldham Council on 0161 770 4451.
